Hi, I´m Val, an artist living on the island of Ibiza.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication from Seattle-Pacific University, and a Diploma in Graphic Design & Illustration from Arte Neo,  Madrid.

Here's a bit about my background:
I've traveled the world and lived in many countries before finding a home in Spain.
In my twenties, I split my time working for private banks and collaborating with NGOs in Africa and India, where I conducted art workshops, and designed greeting cards. I also volunteered as an English teacher in Kenya and in China.

I now live on a farmhouse, in a pine tree forest where my family and I look for new ways to grow anything from trees to veggies.
Water can be scarce here, especially in summer. We feel it´s important to use our natural resources wisely to keep our island healthy and beautiful.

I don't travel as much as I used to, but at least, my plants do.
Since our trees have grown, we've started collecting seeds from our orchard. We send them NGOs that support gardening projects in refugee camps, such as the Lemon Tree Trust in the UK.

Besides writing and illustrating, I teach French, English and Art in local schools. I am also a mom of three, and a chicken enthusiast. This keeps me busy.

All books, products and artwork you purchase help support the growth of our organic garden, and our self sustaining farmhouse.
